Charlie and I have four boys, four dogs and a menagerie of animals here at Ty’r Chanter and if you decide to come and stay you really are part of our family. Our home is your home for as long as you stay. I have no rules and regulations as they say! If you have come for rest and recuperation, an action-packed weekend, whether you're old or young, just two of you or two families, I very much hope you will enjoy sharing this diamond that we are lucky enough to live in. Looking out from the sitting room windows, you are faced with the most stunning view I know. Yes I’m biased but snowbound, rain downpours or sunshine it still is breathtaking. The river below, the house, the wildlife and the knowledge that you can leave all the troubles, bank managers, office and stresses behind is a treat. Have a great time and go back to normality feeling recharged with a little more zest for life.
Breakfast is from 8.30-9.30am, should you like it earlier or later please let me know. Sadly the morning papers will not be here at breakfast time but if you let me know I can get the papers you would like by midmorning. Please let me know if you have any allergies or you are a vegetarian.
Packed lunches are easily made up and if you can give me as much notice as possible I would be very grateful. Soups, baps, coffee, and tea. Anything is possible!
As a mum of two boys and the wicked stepmother of two teenage boys I have every bit of kit you mums could ever need. Cots, travel cots, changing mats, bath mats, spare wellies, spare coats, backpacks, three wheeler pushchair, highchairs, and gates on staircases. Baby toys, middle toys, teenage toys, games tables, bicycles, sandpit, swings, climbing frame and dens in prickly wood! If there is anything that has been forgotten, please ask!
Inside: There is a playroom for the use of your children with a telly and games table but most little ones seem to end up in Fred and Tom’s playroom. Your children can feed the goldfish or the budgie, help me feed the dogs or end up playing "rescue" around the house with our boys. Eating is in the dining room but you can always come and ask for some rations in the kitchen.
Outside: First and foremost we have a stream and a duck pond in the orchard which I feel you need to know about. The stream is very shallow but the duck pond is deep. Your children can go anywhere they like and use any of the boys' toys, bicycles, tractors, sandpit, swings – all yours! They can come and help me feed the ducks and the chickens and depending on the time of year, help with the lambs and other newborns.
We have four dogs, two labradors and two lurchers, Havoc, Rocky, Jambo and Baffle. I am more than happy to welcome your dogs, please bring their beds and bowls, however, if you do forget, we have spares! There is lots of room for them to bound around the house but if they eat my chickens look out – you could be paying for new ones!!!
